Howard's Theater TV, DirecTV and Tivo Page.

Its not a home theater unless you have some type of monitor, projector, or TV. Below is my Proscan 61 inch TV. Its big, it was very inexpensive, and does a good enough job for NTSC interlaced images. I had this unit ISF calibrated by KC Audio in Dallas. I plan to upgrade to a 65 inch HDTV but the price/performance does not fit my budget at this time. Maybe next year.

Tivo allows you to pause live TV, skip commercials quickly, pre record your favorite shows, and even make suggestions on other shows you might enjoy. I own the Sony SAT-T60 which incorporates a dual DirecTV tuner and the Tivo recorder all in one package. If you have DirecTV then this is the one to own. It records Dolby digital and the MPEG digital stream straight to the hard drive. No analog to digital and back to analog format conversions. The quality is maintained. I also have a Sony SVR-2000 stand alone Tivo. If you have cable then you will need this model although I hear rumors of an integrated cable tuner with Tivo like services. I use the SVR-2000 with my downstairs receiver and TV.
